Supporting Creative Industries Through Technology

The Supporting Creative Industries through Technology Toolkit is a new toolkit to assist councils in identifying, partnering and promoting creative industries in their municipalities and region.

This toolkit follows on from the pilot program which ran between 2014-15 and was designed to test and promote some of the ideas developed in the Technology Supporting Creative Industries Opportunities Paper. It recognises the importance of technology in supporting creative workers and industries in rural communities.

Three councils completed the pilot project: Hepburn Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council and Baw Baw Shire Council. Each of the pilot projects share a focus on bringing diverse, creative communities together in creative hubs or through web based platforms. For more information please see the media release.

Polish Consulting was subsequently engaged to bring together the work of the three councils, as well as RCV’s previous research into the economic benefits of creative industries.
